Auto Lamp feature doesn't seem to work

The Auto Lamp feature for my headlights on my 2002 f150 supercrew doesn't seem to function. Any thoughts on what may the problem and the fix?

Well, it could be bright daylight outside.... or it could be anything in the autolamp circuitry. What have you checked?

BTW, time to remove the photobucket links in your signature.

No, not a bright day. When I start the truck in the dark, with AL engaged, lights don't come on after starting like all my other F150s of this vintage have done. Have to turn on headlamps manually.

My guess is that the Day/Night sensor is broken.

I'm not sure where Ford puts it, but it is typically mounted to the forward facing side of the Rear View Mirror. Your truck does not know it is night.

According to the EVTM, its behind the dash on the right hand side center up towards the base of the windshield. Look for the optical sensor peeking through the dash.

My kid has an Edge, there is an eye on the forward facing side of the Rear View Mirror, and there is a small black pyramid thing on the top of the dashboard and the base of the windshield, in the center of the dash.
