No cruise control

I have a 2001 f150 lariat super crew cab and I'm going to mexico this weekend from houston and i don't wanna get any cramps .i wanna use my CRUISE CONTROL ! but when i try to set the cruise control , the cruise light doesn't come on the dash . my 3rd brake light was out so i replaced it thinking that was causing it but nope ! still doesn't work ! I've also tried holding the "off" and turning it into the run position and the lights do blink . and when i press all the other buttons in order from "on , resume , coast, set/accel" the cruise light lights and blinks . after I'm done it blinks two more times and then nothing . I read that you had to press the accelerator . but do i do after i turn the car on ? or do i do it still on the run position when the cars off ? please help!

Possible blown fuse in the recall harness to the disconnect switch on the master cylinder. If it's blown, the switch needs to be replaced along with the harness.

It connects to the disconnect switch on the master cylinder.
