97' 4.2L 5speed. Put 99' auto motor in my 97' white smoke with gassy smell won't go away. I've put diagnosis test on it. Changed all sensors that it said were out. Still same result. Would computer be different? ?

White smoke out of the exhaust usually means water is getting into the combustion chamber. Most likely cause is head gasket failure.
