Looking at swapping a 05 5.4 into a 2001 5.4. Was planning on locking out the cam phasers and changing the sensors from the 01 to the 05 and running the 01 computer if at all possible. Want the improved power of the 3v. Curious if it is a possible swap.

 

Anything is possible but that's more trouble than it's worth. An easier swap would be a 4V out of a Lincoln.

You say you want the improved power of the 3 valve motor but yet want to pin out the very function that has improve the power of the 3 valve.
How did you come to that thought?
The operating system between the two years are completely different.
