Air bag dash lite

Since owning this 1999 F-150 4.6 XLT, the amber air bag dash lite has always flashed, indicating a fault in the system. My question is other than a defective wheel clock, could a alternative cause bee that this truck came to me with a master cylinder that was incorrectly replaced with one which doesn't have the port that should have the electrical connection for its' corresponding mating plug which of course is not connected at this time?

The air bag light???
or do you mean the brake light?

The MC would not have any relation to the air bags.

If you do mean the air bag light - then check the pattern for the flashes. I know for the 2004+ years at least the light flashes in a specific pattern that will tell you what is wrong.

Thanks for the reply, although I am aware of the air bag lite flash code. Was interested to learn if the missing electrical connection at the master cylinder could in any way cause or contribute to the problem.

You need to put an SRS capable scanner on it and read the codes
