Large gap between bed and cab of 1997 f150

Someone had pointed out that there was a large gap between the bed and cab of my 97 f150 lariat.

Is this normal or could the bed have been replaced or not installed correctly? Appreciate any info. Thank you

That looks about right. My 03 has a gap about 1.25 inches, but it's not a Flareside - it's a regular cab short bed Styleside.

That just allows you to be able to stick your wash mitt in there to clean the gap!

But, that does seem about right..

Not a close up, but here is my 97

Just measured my 13 and it's a 1" gap.

Thanks. Wish I still had the 97. I had to trade it for the 13. I do have some new tires on the 13 with the stock wheels. That pic was taken the day after I brought it home.
