starting the truck
Howzit,
about 3 months ago I purchased a 2003 Ford F159 from an auction for $125.00. The only thing I had to do on it was to change the steering column and figure out how to get the truck started. Since I could jump start it from the starter Relay(Solenoid) That ruled out the Fuel pump, Starter and being a bought a new Starter relay(Solenoid) the process of elimination has begun, Changed out the DTR(Neutral safety switch) and the ignition switch, Still no crank no start. So I traced a little wire that had no voltage which was attached to the solenoid. It went into the fusebox and into the cabin, and that's when I noticed that it had been cut and capped off. then I noticed the same colr wire coming out of the ignition switch going into this little black box which was beeping. Come to find out after researching this box, It is a device called a PTE-2 Passtime. It's like a box that disables your Vehicle so it doesn't start. Supposedly if you don't make payments on your truck it shuts off the truck, That sucks after all the work I out into it. Does anyone know how to disable this thing or being that I got this from an auction would I need to take it to the dealership well cant take it cause it don't start. Any advice would be appreciated

Bypass it and restore the wiring to original or just unplug it and jumper the purple and blue wires.
Some previous owner probably had bought it from a tote-the-note car lot and the sleazebags installed that hoping they'd get paid on time. It's just a starter interrupt.

Thanks for the reply. I apologize for not being Electrical savoy but when you mean by Jumper the purple and blue wires, Do I cut those out from the PTE-2 and splice it back and oh I get it now, Thanks I'll do that when I get home.
