Need some help

I have a 2001 f150 V8. Earlier today when I was driving to the gym the battery light kept flickering and then it went off, then kept repeating. I thought maybe something was loose . So after a couple hrs It started up fine, the batterylight stayed on and I noticed the battery gauge slowly go all way down to nothing, the radio went off ,then came back on. Barley made it into my driveway, then I turned her off and tried starting her again and it just made a clicking sound. The lights are all working. I'm obviously gonna test the battery first, to rule that out. Anyone have any advice on what happened? ? I'm guessing it could be a connection, battery, starter or alternator issue.

Pull the battery and take it to the parts store to get it tested - if you have access to a battery charger you can charge it and drive it over - and have them load test the alternator too.

It needs an alternator probable. Take it off and have it tested.

Don't even need to take it off if you don't want, as long as you can drive it to the parts store. They can test it on-vehicle.
