Exclamation Need TIME-SERT Kit DFW, TX

Well my 99 4.6 blew a spark plug out yesterday. Luckily it was cylinder #1 so nothing is in the way.

I blame myself, I should have done a plug swap and torqued the plugs to 28 foot pounds right after I purchased the truck. Not knowing the maintenance history of the truck I was taking a risk.

Anyway I'm looking to borrow a time-sert kit from someone in the Dallas-Fort Worth area so I can repair my truck. I want to make the best possible repair but can't afford to buy my own kit at this time. Truck is my daily so I need to repair it asap.

I would be willing to pay a rental fee and pay for the cost of the insert I use. Also if you have experience using the time-sert kit and don't mind helping with the repair I will pay you for your time.

I paid around $450 for my kit which I bought when I bought an Expedition with a spit plug. I made enough profit on the sale to pay for the kit and a little more.

Sorry you're so far away. I'd happily assist.

So far the cheapest kit I have found online is $450, no local places have a kit so I'd have to order it.

Every place I call locally only has the Heli-Coil kit and I don't trust the HC repair.

How many inserts does the kit come with?

I'd be willing to go in on the kit with you, not that I need it, but wouldn't mind owning it either.

We have at least 2 members who rent out the kit. You have a PM.

I bought my kit used for 150 bucks. Had to order inserts and get locktight. Might just try searching your locals for timesert. Ya never know.

The kit I was looking at only came with five.
