99' Exhaust donut

I assumed I was in need of a driver side donut. However all the parts stores all say there is no listing for one on my year truck. The walker catalog also shows no such gasket. Now I know I have play in my pipe and there is a large gap. I picked up a donut for a late 80's F150 for $2 to try. I guess my question is this.... Is there a donut in there? If there isnt what creates the seal? Thx in advance.

the downpipe end of the manifold is a ball fitting, no gaskets

studs are a weak point with age/rust

Yea ended up buying a new driver side converter pipe. Had to McGyver some things to make it work but it is on and much quieter than it was lol However I think with all my banging and cutting I may have disturbed the pass side a bit too much and it may be next.
