I have to do this at some point but mine only seems to go out when it is hot outside which only happened 8 or 10 times over this summer but now we are into cooler fall weather it is fine again.

I'm done now.
I did a long search for a truck cap many years ago and also my odometer did go out.
Other than that I've been pretty much trouble free with my tenth generation truck.
I don't know squat about 2004 thru present.

So, I got nothing unless somebody asks about the custom valve stem caps from Pep Boys.
I'm waiting for that which is pretty sad if you think about it.

Not sad! Great service if you haven't had any problems!

It's probably just about to start to teach you a few more repairs. After about 125k miles my 02 truck started teasing me with odometer issue, rear scab door latches, right rear wheel bearing and axle, both front bearing hubs, tie rod ends, idler arm, sway bar end link bushings, lower ball joints. And the power mirrors never worked. One of these days I plan to replace the switch on the door and see if that is the problem. I haven't fixed the odometer problem yet either. 134k miles at this point. I bought mine used in May of 09 with 69k miles on it. Don't really know what kind of service it was put through before I got it.

Oh, I forgot about the overhead console that quit working! I haven't fixed it yet either.

So how do you install custom valve stem caps from Pep Boys? How many HP's does it get you?

Slow down! My head is spinning, that's too much too fast.

Ok, first remove each of the OEM valve stem caps by rotating them counter-clockwise until they drop into your hand.
Then carefully rotate the premium Pep Boys replacement valve stem covers in a clockwise direction until futile resistance is met.
Now crawl under the bed and remove the OEM valve stem cap from the spare and replace it with the......what YOU ONLY BOUGHT FOUR?
Back to Pep Boys with you!

(Each new Cap will net you 12 hp each with the exception of the Spare which only nets 6 hp)
With the additional 54HP you may want to opt for the Pep Boys Drag Chute to deal with those pesky red lights.
