Smile whos got headers?

primarly, share them headers! secondarly, i'm looking at the obx LT kit on ebay. i know people here use them, so i wanna know how good they are. the longevity, installation, satisfaction, and if i can use them here in Texas and not have to worry about inspection/emissions giving me problems.( im gonna swap out the resonators for high flow cats to keep it legal)

it's a choked down copy of the American made Dynatechs

so as long as you don't plan on adding boost later on down the road you'll be fine

I have the OBX kit on my 06, and the primaries are larger than I'd like, so they're perfectly fine for boost as far as I'm concerned. Not sure what about 1.75" primaries isn't boost friendly, cause they're certainly larger than the 1 5/8" a NA motor should have.

I'd buy from this site though:

http://www.sparktecmotorsports.com/f...t-headers.html

They're usually cheaper than eBay and is where I got mine.

The supplied gaskets are crap. They've got to be the lowest quality 304 SS in the world because mine are black, but who cares cause we're in Texas and they're still not going to rust. But the fitment is good and I'm happy with them. Just giving disclosure, but certainly not trying to deter you from buying them because they're definitely the best buy on the market.

Edit: I just checked and the Dynatech's actually have the 1 5/8" primaries that I'd prefer.

though on ebay, it says 4.6 AND 5.4 together, so can i use 5.4 headers on my truck with its 4.6? if i can i might just use the sparktec site so i can get it with cats.

I don't think so . . . I don't know exactly why, but there are enough differences that I think there's a reason why they're listed as 5.4 only.I just assumed you had a 5four.

I was under the impression that OBX did not make them for a 4.6 . . . I definitely wouldn't trust a random eBay seller to know what they're talking about. Not sure about the 97-03 4.6s, but Pacesetter is the only company that makes them for 04-08 4.6s, to my knowledge.

I've heard the OBX cats are crappy, so I'd get the resonator kit and stick Maggie hi-flows in, assuming that kit works at all.

haha, yea, i've seen yes, no, and a squares a rectangle but a rectangle isn't a square for an answer on if the headers can do 5.4 to 4.6, i will have a 5.4 once the motor goes , and im looking at Flowmaster 2822225's for hi-flows, i dont have any experience with maggies unless you or someone can say they're better.
heres the ebay link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/OBX-Racing-Exhaust-Headers-99-03-Ford-F150-F-150-4-6L-5-4L-Triton-Header-/151441533527?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item23429e6a57 there website doesn't specify motor size on these just separates them from the lightnings http://www.obxracingsports.com/products.php?pk=1626

i lied, there website show for 5.4 and this https://www.f150online.com/forums/ex...headers-2.html

Headers

'97 4.6 2wd. Trying to remember the part number.....Had to "massage" one of the driver side primaries right before the collector but otherwise they fit like a glove. If you are 4x4 than, well, GL.

All I can attest to is that I know of 30 people running Maggies on several makes/models and zero people running Flowmaster cats on anything. However, I can't imagine FM putting out something bad. Maggies are really inexpensive too.

Those Hedman headers are 100% long tubes as long as that pic is accurate. That description of them being shorties isn't right at all.

theoretically something like that will do just fine for my 4.6 02 f150 2wd but ive heard that the headers are harder to work with on truck past 2k because ford moved stuff around or something. i was contimplating looking into 5.4 4x4 headers because shifty-85 said they worked for him and his 4.6 but it seems a little sketchy lol

Ya maybe it was the 4x4 version its been so long...I would get ceramic coated version if you dont feel like repainting. They should work fine on your 2wd just go for it you'll love em.
