Question Issue with ordering lights and model.

Hey, so I was looking at new headlights for my truck. The truck was manufactured in February of 1996 according to the sticker inside the truck with the vin number and other specs. I was looking at a pair of Spyder headlights and taillights, well an issue came up saying they won't fit models manufactured before June of 1997. Talking to someone at AutoAnything they explained there was an issue that was changed and I need to have lights that fit the 96 model, yet Amazon is screaming the 1996 model wont fit. If anyone could give me some input on what I need know for sure it would help because I have found a pair of headlights/taillights for both years that I like but I want to make sure before I order them and have to deal with issues. Thank you.

You may have trouble finding some lights that'll fit your truck because of the manufacturing date. Up until around 7/97 the header panel and mounting for the headlights was different. After that it became the same for the remainder of these trucks through 03. So almost all the lights you'll find will be for the second style header panel.

You can try to find lights that will fit the early production months (check LMC truck) or you can swap header panels to have access to all the different ones.

Slightly unrelated, but I'd stay away from Spyder products. All around poor quality from the output to the fitment.

Okay that makes a lot more sense, thank you. So the header panel is still close to the 96 model lights is why Im being told to get those instead? I can't find many lights at all of almost any brand that don't have that rule exception on them and it's a bit frustrating ha...But if the 96 ones do fit that would work still.

Also do you have any idea about the third break light? They said the issue was the same with the tail lights but I was not sure about that one.
