2000 F-150 miss fire cylinder 2
Hello all. Very new to the forums and hoping I'm posting this in the correct section and that I can get a good answer. 4 days ago my battery on my F-150 died. The lights were left on all night and the battery was 5 years old so I bought a new one. It ran perfect Monday no problems at all. Tuesday I turn it on and it vibrates heavily in idle and while driving. Once I get to 1500 rpm it vibrates to the point I want to leave the vehicle before it blows up or something. Once I get near 55-60mph the service engine light flashes. I went to autozone and the obd code was P0302 miss fire cylinder 2. Now I am no mechanic at all in fact I'm pretty automotively challenged. But I believed it was the spark plugs or something. Changed all those and the problem persisted. I checked the wires for any cracks or such and I saw nothing. My dad who does the work on the truck thinks maybe a new coil pack will fix the problem. Any ideas of what could cause this whole issue with the truck? Prior to the battery dying, the truck had no problems.
Welcome to the forum,
Do not take this badly, But this Question is very common.
On the Right side of the screen there is a Search engine, & using it, will get you the Info you are wanting.
As for why the Mis-fire after changing a dead battery? The truck is 14 years old, & Coil-packs are a known weak point.

If I had to guess... - that engine doesn't use coil packs. Sounds like a COP problem IMO.
But yea, OP, post the engine and ignition system. Not all 2000 V8's were Coped. Most were, but there's been a few 2000 V8's with packs in the past. With the 4.6L's anyway.

It's a V6 engine with 1 coil pack. I'm getting that changed hopefully today or tomorrow hoping it will fix the problem.
