I just picked up a '98 F-150 XLT with 108K on it. Very happy as the truck is in crazy good shape. Was owned and maintained by a Mechanical Engineer at Nissan!!!

Anyway it has power locks and windows and I would like to add factory remote keyless entry. I know I could go the aftermarket route but don't wanna for two reasons. One cost, 200 these days for keyless seems too high. Second. I just like things original.

I tried the ignition trick and it didn't trip my locks so I'm guessing I'm missing the module. I think it's this. Am I on the right track or is this not even doable because the wiring won't be there.

 

You would need a 'receiver' with it's matching key fob transmitter and the harness to operate the door 'motors'.
Harness there, I don't know.

So is the module in the auction the receiver you're talking about?

 

I thought the boxes were black. I see the code for the door keypad, that might be what that is for? Or maybe they are the same not sure.
