Recall notices?
Recall notices?
Guys,
I went on line and searched for recall notices on my F-150. I found that there were 10 that covered the 1997 F-150. Since I am not the original owner, is there a way to find out if the repairs were ever done? If they have not been done would a dealer still do the repairs under the recall warranty?
Any advice would be helpful.

Welcome to the site.
When there is a recall they track them by vin numbers. When a dealer makes the repair they get paid by Ford when they send in the vin, and Ford keeps a record of all the vehicle's vin numbers that have been repaired.
I don't know if there is an expiration date for the repairs or not. But it makes no difference if you are the original owner or not. The recalls are for public safety not customer satisfaction.

Gegoff, welcome to the forum. I think jgger has given you all you really need to know. I'd go check with your local dealership. They should be able to tell you if the recalls were applied.
I moved your thread to the 1997-2003 forum, since it's not really an introduction.

Safety recalls never expire.
You can find out if there are any outstanding recalls on your Ford by either asking your dealer to run an OASIS report or, if you have a knack to DIY, you can look up your VIN on Ford's owner's connection or on their fleet website.

I only remember the recall on the cruise control recall on my old 2000 I had. Got the notice when the truck had about 92k planed on taking the truck to 100k then have it done. However around 96k the transmission started to act up a little figured worse case scenario of about 3k to fix and just traded it in for my 05 I have now.
