tire/wheel combo help

Hey guys need some help. Trying to put new shoes on the SC and as most of you know its really hard to find a decent aftermarket wheel for our trucks anymore. Anyways i wanna run a 18x9 with a 325/60r18 but most the wheels im finding are a 0/1-20 offset (5.00-5.75BS)
ive looked at my front suspension and dont think they would fit but just wanna hear some opinions from the gurus on what they think and what my options are
thanks guys

I know this is not what you wanted but maybe you can use it as a comparison? I have Ion Alloy 171 16"x10" Polished wheels. They have a 3.5" backspacing and I'm running General Grabber at2 305/70/16 (33x12.5x16). I had the same issue you have with not being able to find to many wheels with a 5x135 bolt pattern. I copied my set up off other members of this forum because I really like they way their trucks looked. I just did the lift and wheels/tires recently and I am very happy with the over all set up. Like I said I know you want something different just thought you could use this as a comparison seeing how nobody chimed in yet.

Here are a few pic's.

Hope this helps a little bit.

Oops,

I was asking about your bumper but I see you listed the info in your signature.

Thanks Evil, every little bit helps and your truck looks awesome. Just curious as to why you went with 33s with a lift.
My biggest concern is the tire rubbing the upper control arm/ball joint. And if my memory serves me right to run a 13" wide tire on the front of our trucks you have to grind the factory jack lifting point off the lower control arms. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.
I think I'm just gunna bite the bullet and order the wheels and tires and get some 1/2" spacers. That should put me at 4.5" BS and hopefull take care of any clearence issues. Any one have any input on using the slip on wheel spacers? They'll only be 1/2"
And if you have any questions about the bumper just ask. I love it and probably the smartest/best thing I've done to my truck but if I were to do it again I probably would go with the Trail Ready one instead.

Just thought I'd go ahead and add before someone asked. I'm going with 18x9 XD806 BOMBs with 325/60R18 Pro Comps Extreme A/Ts

Im running 325/60R18 Terra Grapplers on my truck. Rims are Eagle Alloy 18x9 079 with 4.5 Back Space and -12 offset and have no rub issues after the obvious bumper trimming.

I didn't need the lift but I liked the way it looked and the price was right so I went for it. Good luck with your wheels, I know how it is before you pull the trigger. I wanted to be 100% positive that I was making the right choice. Next for me is a 4.10 gear swap from my 3.55's. I have the 4.10's sitting here in my living room. I can't wait to install them. After you get your wheels post them up.

Nelson, Thanks! Hopefully 1/2" spacers will be ok and that should put me at 4.5" BS

Evil, It does look good! My truck also came from the factory with 3.55s and after a year of the rear end howling I took it to 4 Wheel Parts and had them do 3.73s (tried talking me into 4.10s but didnt wanna lose that much mileage) and a Detroit Locker with Mag-Hytec Cover. I'm very happy with the combo! I lost a little mileage but gained acceleration, tows ALOT better, and dont have to use 4low as much offroad.
And I'll be sure to post pics as soon as I'm done just gotta convince the wife I need new wheels too!
Shes already on my case cause of my Jeep, the L Swap, and I'm in the process of building a new shop
She should be happy though, she got her new house and a new Explorer Sport

Haha, sometimes i truly wonder if its cheaper to keep her. But then again if it wasnt for her I'd always be broke.

Man, hopefully you didn't order those spacers yet. There's so many safety issues with spacers in general, and slip ons being just about the worst kind.

How do you figure? Just asking cause Ive ran bolt on spacers on jeeps, lug convereters... my last dually had 2" spacers on the rear and was only used to pull/haul stuff....

Spacers with pressed in studs are a lot safer than ones that slip on. Pressed in studs means the lug nuts have the full amount of threads to use still. Slip on's give you less threads to hold your lug nuts on, and are more prone to loosening up. Also your just adding another point for something to fail. Other things that aren't so much a problem as an annoyance is you definitely should regulary check and make sure they're torqued properly. And quality ones aren't cheap. Will you have a problem? I can't say, some people do, some don't. Is there a greater of breaking a stud or losing a wheel than without the spacers? Definitely. If you don't believe me there's plenty of info out their online on why they aren't great choices.

It's your truck to do with as you want, but I personally wouldn't risk it unless your dead set on those wheels you found and even then I'd go with the ones with the higher backspacing so you could run a set of 1.5" spacers with the pressed in studs.

Small spacers cover threads, so less threads are holding your wheels on. 2" ones should be completely bolt on and have new pressed in studs, so they're much better.
