Magnapack?

I am wanting to put a new muffler on my truck, I currently have a flowmaster 40 in place of the stock muffler. Its ok, but it really doesnt sound that good and isnt very loud for as much drone as it produces. I hear that the magnapacks sound pretty good on the 2v 5.4 but most of the time that is coming from guys that have hi flow cats and/or duals. I want to just run a SISO magnapack with the stock pipe and maybe throw on a 3.5" SS tip at the end. Can anyone give tell me what this may sound like? compared to my flowmaster?

That is exactly what I have. SISO 4" magnapack replacing stock muffler on a 99 5.4L. NO tip though. Great sound. Not to loud and not to quiet. Sounds good on take off and acceleration yet quiets down on the highway for very little drone. Let me see if I can find a clip of mine.

This is in the cab so it is hard to tell but may give you an idea.
It sets off my neighbors truck alarm almost every morning on start up..

Super crap video quality, not sure why my phone did not focus but the sound is there. This has about 50k miles on the magnapack.

Sounds pretty good man. I like that it sounds deeper than my fartmaster. Does it get progressively louder as you increase in Rpms? One thing I don't like about the flowmaster is that it is the loudest at like 2400 rpm and after that it just sort of hums and the fan itself is louder than my exhaust it seems.

It gets louder but the tone changes. It becomes more of an aggressive engine sound with a resonance of exhaust and intake noise. A perfect combination if you ask me. Not only are magnaflows a better built product, they are a true flow through design unlike flowmasters chambered mufflers. The modular engines love their maggies. I would without question put magnaflows on any of my next vehicles over flowmaster any day.

Everyone is different. I like the note she gives out. Its aggressive when I want it to be but mellow it needs to be. Of coarse there are louder setups. But this has just the right sound. It's had many compliments.

My current muffler is offset inlet, center out. With the magnapack being center/center does that pose a problem? or should the muffler shop be able to make it work?

I ended up picking up a small s bend piece to weld in there since I did it myself. An exhaust shop should have no problems doing that
