98 xlt 4.6 no go

Hello all, my 1998 xlt with 277,000 miles has left me stranded for the first time. To make a long story short, I was on my way to work driving on 3 inches of solid ice. The roads were in horrible shape, I was bouncing and sliding all over the place. On the last leg of my 33 mile journey to work, my truck just died while sliding into the left turn lane. Tried to start it, and it just wouldn't. I got pulled to my work parking lot. I changed the fuel filter, and it will start, but it will stumble, then due, tried to start it again, and it ran like normal for 10 seconds then stumble then die. Keep getting the same outcome when I start it. I can hear the fuel pump when I turn the key. The more I research ,the more confused I get. Sorry about the long post. I've learned a lot from this forum, you guys are awesome. Thanks for looking.

Use a gauge on the rail to test the fuel pressure. Needs to be minimum 28 psi to start and keep running.

Sounds like a pump, but just on a hunch if you were on rough surface check and see if the fuel shutoff switch has tripped.

Sorry it took so long, I've got 30 psi at the fuel rail, fuel safety switch has not been tripped, and no check engine codes. I'm at a total loss. I'll keep investigating.

Does the pressure hold or build when it starts, or does it drop off before it stalls?
