Said Goodbye to the 7700 work truck ...
Got the call at work the other day that my '03 7700 bi-fuel work truck was being retired. Not only was this truck my job site transportation, but it was also my office where I spent 1000's of hours doing the endless paperwork required as part of my job.
10+ years, 212,584 miles, head gaskets at 125K, trans at 185K, still rockin' the original shocks

Of course I have no input on its replacement, so I was pretty pleased to be assigned this ...

It's got the 3.7, which surprised me as all of our 1/2 tons in the past have been V8. The job I'm on right now doesn't require the WOT pulls from the shoulder into 80 mph traffic, so I don't really know how the 3.7 will be. The 5.4 bi-fuel was pretty sluggish ...

No ... But the Flex Fuel designation still allows the Politicians to brag about all the Alternative Fuel Vehicles their fleet contains.
I don' see the dirt truck going anywhere for a long time ... It's too useful and there's too many things I still want to do to it.
What else can the bi fuel burn? CNG? Didn't know they mass produced them that long ago.

Ours were all gas/LPG ... we had a bunch of '00 and '03-'04 Heritage. The LPG systems were troublesome, probably because they weren't used enough.

Got about 2500 miles on the '13 now. Rides real nice and gets a little over 20 mpg (the '03 7700 got 12-14 mpg).
