Torquing spark plugs without a torque wrench?
I checked them once after doing it freehand. I was a little light, like 21-23' lbs.
Surprised, thought I would be heavy if anything. I have some nice torque wrenches btw. Those cheapies can really F things up. Have to be careful there.
Patrick has the the F150 plug socket or one like it. Not to long ago, a company called OTC (I think) made an 4.6/5.4 plug socket. 8 years ago or so. Think I still have the advertisement somewhere lol.
The longer the extension the less torque I will get at the plug, Correct or am I wrong? So your saying that from a snug position that a quarter to half turn will suffice? I got a 3/8" TW and a few extensions to use. The reason I really asked this question is that I have been reading on here people just snugging up the plugs then giving it another 1/4-1/2 turn, done! I really wonder how close to 28ft lbs they are getting....
To get your 28, it's closer to 1/2 turn IMO. Your real close, maybe one more little nudge ? Nahhh.. lol
