97XL is correct about the 4.2L V6's having hydrolock problems. The original intake manifold gasket was too thin, which allowed coolant to leak into cylinder#1 and grenade the engines. HOWEVER, if it has been rebuilt by a reputable mechanic, then you should be fine. I bought my '97 at 114,000 miles, with a new long block with only 600 miles on it, and the engine had a transferable 3-year, 100,000 mile factory warranty. Also brand new A/T tires, tow hitch, nice matching cap, and a Pioneer CD/stereo, for $5000. I love it.

I bought my father-in-laws from him this week. 98, 4.6 auto. Its given him 330k reliable miles and he's towed stuff that he really needed a 250 for... big tractors!!! He had me replace the transmission 3 thousand ago because it shuddered once haha. But its good to go!
