No i didn't because i replaced the plugs less than 5,000 and the wires less than 10k it probably wouldn't hurt to replace the fuel filter.. also how would i check if i have a clogged muffler or tailpipe?

Take it to a muffler shop, they have equipment to test exhaust for restrictions and blockage.

Did you use Motorcraft plugs and wires?

That engine hate cheap parts. Mortcraft parts or BETTER and it hard to find better. Autozone wires are for sure not better. Just get rid of them. To many times guys have come in here with problems only to find they put cheap wires on. It makes a difference! Especially on the wires.

Autozone Duracrap wires are exactly that. You can order Motorcraft wires from rockauto.com for about 1/2 the price that the parts stores want for them.

I wouldn't order an idler or an alternator till you can pin down exactly what is whining with a stethoscope. As I've said, a weak battery can cause an alternator whine, when are you going to get it load tested?

Okay, now use a stethoscope to localize the whine.
