Tranny acting up on me
No. it doesn't call for Mercon. It use to, but it wasn't near good enough with controlling the heat. Even fresh would heat up and that heat would eventually compromise the transmission..... - Could explain further..
Best fluid is the Amsoil IMO, -as I posted previously. -At the very least , run Merc V. When I converted over from Mercon to Amsoil in my E40D, there was a bunch of clutch material (Automatic Trans Clutch Mat) in the accumulator body. This was causing the pistons to hang up and stick which in-turn would cause the trans to slip and shift funny. If you want to save that E4OD, there may still be time to. Read my first post.
