How Much Should I Sell My Truck For?

Hey guys, i'm thinking about selling my truck. The only thing is I don't know what I should sell it for. The truck is a 1998 F150 standard cab flareside with the 4.6 engine and a 5 speed manual transmission. It has minimal rust and 132,000 miles. I put a new exhaust manifold on it, new flowmaster exhaust, new 31' BFG AT tires, new headlights and LED tailights, K&N air filter, window tint, new hitch, new alternator, new air conditioning and heater core, entirely new sound system including new JVC headunit, Pioneer speakers, JBL audio amp and two 8' subs, black plasti-dipped rims, cloth interior is in perfect shape. Everything works on the truck as is should. Used full synthetic motor oil since I bought it and purchased it from the original owner, so i'm the second owner. The truck is 15 years old but everyone thinks it's much younger since its in such good shape. Also includes a matching bed cap and original parts that I have upgraded such as headlights, tailights, and audio, ect. The truck blue books for around $4500. Here are two pics to get an idea. Thanks!

As nice as it is it still a 16 year old truck. Prices vary depending on where you are buy I would think here in Utah you would be doing really good to get 5 grand. Thats likely a stretch. Somethings just aint worth selling..

A 16 year old truck I say you should get at least 4k out of it. My 05 reg cab XLT with 144k is only worth around 4800 trade in when I last looked on KBB last week.

You'd be better off getting back to as close as stock as possible and selling all the mods you added separately, they only add value to the right buyer, which could take a while to find.

Exactly what I was going to say. While I think the truck looks great, the modifications make it appeal to a smaller buying population. Peel the plastidip off of the emblems and wheels for sure, perhaps put the stock headlights back in if they're in as good of shape as the rest of the truck, and then remove all of the aftermarket audio components.

It's a very clean looking truck! The paint looks to be in very good shape as well. But the closer to stock, the better and the more people it will appeal to. It's actually worth more with less. And you can use the money left over from selling the mods on mods for your next truck!

I'd keep the looks of it the same, - that's what's going to sell it. Did a great job there.
