stone guard on brake lines?

Has anyone bothered to replace the stone guard spring on the front line, the line that runs across to the front wheels? I replaced all other lines without the spring (the rear, the left front). This is the last one. I just finished fixing the rear line, now found the front right leaking just above the frame, so this piece also has to be replaced.
Just thought the one across the front seems vulnerable under there where rocks can hit it. I am using Nicopp (Cunifer), great stuff. Only it's softer than steel, so wondered if it's a good idea to wrap that old spring around it in case it rubs through and screws up the softer metal. I'm just not sure if it would matter. Or, maybe use plastic spiral wrap instead of the steel spring?
Thanks.

No spring on my brake lines that came with the lift and don't recall a spring on the originals either. Never had an issue so I personally would never sweat it.

thanks for the reply

That's what I'll do, was leaning that way but wanted to check in case there was some reason it should be used there. I didn't bother with it anywhere else, and really never cared for that stuff, it seems to make the lines rust out faster.

Those springs are to assist with bending and just left on there if I recall. Specially helps when replacing that line that starts with about 10 circles right out of the master lol.
