Hello there, new to this so please bare with me. I've got a 2000 f150 5.4L that I just bought, I can't vet it to start while in park but will start in neutral. I've replaced the solenoid on the firewall near the battery but still nothing. Now when I turn the key to start there's no clicking or anything. I'm getting a little aggravated cause I don't want to start buying and replacing a dozen parts. Where should I start? Thanks

It could just be loose, or the bracket at the bottom of the steering column that pulls the cable could be loose.
Is the shift lever a little sloppy? If it is then follow the cable to the column and see if the 2 torx bolts are tight.

Ok guys, thanks for the suggestions. The neutral switch sensor is the problem, I crawled under her today and had my daughter go through the gears. I noticed when put in park it had about 1/8 in play in it, so I was able to push on it just enough by hand. Got back in and she started right up, put in gear moved up and back then shut her off. Then tried starting it again and nothing. So I'm trying to see if I can adjust it at all or just go ahead and replace with a new one. Let me know if anybody has an idea. Thanks.
