PlastiDip, what do you think?

A friend of mine recently turned me onto a product called PlastiDip, an aerosol spray on type rubber coating. The stuff is pretty impressive; no need to tape off what you don't want painted. Just spray it on thick and peel off what you don't want.
So naturally, I had to try it out.
Here are the results of "dipping" my 4x4 lower valance:

I also used the PlastiDip "Glossifier" to shine things up a bit.
I'm interested to know how many other members have used this product.
Post pictures!

It's good to see what things are going to look like black or what ever color you choose but it will rip or tear when on the front or in the line of fire of rocks or bugs.

My brother LOVES this stuff and uses it all over his truck. He's been trying to sell me on it for months, but I am a tad old fashioned.

It does look really nice though, and so easy!

Looks great!

There was a whole car done that came into the body shop next door to work and it looked good but up close it was very uneven.

But for applications like this I think it would be perfect!

I've actually been thinking of doing my chrome bumpers white, and that match is closer than I thought! Looks good and you may have sold me on it

I think I'm gonna hit the bumpers, mirror caps, and door handles! I'll pick some up this weekend. All of those things I plan to have PTM at some point, so this will be a great mock-up to see how I like it.

Will do! Mirror caps are absolutely getting done, as well as one side of door handles. I'm gonna hold on on the bumpers until I see how the other go. If only it would stop raining . . . There's no end in sight! lol

That's pretty cool that they make it in white, I had no idea. I'd be a little weary of using that stuff on door handles though, lots of use on those, it might peel of pretty quick

I'm only putting it on the handles for temporary mockup. I'm anticipating it being a crappy match, so as long as it last a week or two, I'll be good with it. They make it in all kinds of colors though!

Pics as promised! It's actually a pretty darn good match, very pleased with it. 5 coats of PD and 3 coats of PD "glossifier," which is essentially just clear coat but is what helps the color a lot

There are a few more pics in my sig thread
