Replacing door light, 2002

Hey yall,

I gotta replace both passenger and driver door lights on my truck. I took the lens off and tried pulling the bulb out and it wouldn't come out easy, I didn't wanna break it. But my question is, do I need to remove the door panel to replace it? Or was i just not pullin on the bulb hard enough?

Also, has anyone ever used LED bulbs for the door lights? Just curious if they worked well!

Thanks for any help!
