Exclamation Somebody please HELP!!!!

I recently purchased my first Ford earlier this month. 2001 F150 4x4 Lariat Super Crew. I'd been a Chevy guy my whole life, but the beating my Crown Vic takes everyday at work changed my mind. Long story short, I got such a deal on the truck ($1500) that I couldnt pass it up, but it needed a new motor. finally got a fresh 5.4 dropped in, but as I was tightening down my last few trans to engine bolts today, I found a ground wire strap that was unhooked at both ends and sitting near the frame rail on the passenger side, near the exhaust down tube. Could anybody tell me what ground wires are located in that general area so I could find out where this sucker goes before I try to crank it. Thanks

Battery Neg to ground just below the starter. Form there the ground doubles back to the passenger side frame rail, in back of the front tire on the frame and ends (It's a 10 awg cable on the double back).

There's also a strap under the cab, -passenger side that grounds the cab to the frame.

You have 3 or 4 on the firewall, - pass side as well.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for all of the help....It was the one on the firewall, the furthermost right one. It's about 15-20" long and has the green bolt through it. Where does it attach to the engine?

If it's that long, it's the furthest to the left. Connect it to the long bolt on the front of the engine. Anything metal on the engine that links to your direct ground, not the intake.

BTW- your direct ground is the Alt case, - were it meets the engine block.

all of the other ones were still in place...its almost behind the passenger side valve cover on the fire wall. so anything metal on the engine would work?

Yea, I know what one your talking about. Right and Left on a vehicle is from the position your in, driving it. U know, - not standing in front.

Told yuh, big bolt front of the engine OR manifold if you have a metal one.

It's just a FW/Engine ground. Put it where you want. As long as it leads to the engine block.

Understand ?
