Another poor Schmuck with Drivers window problem

I have a 2000 Ex. Cab F150 Lariat. My drivers window will not roll down. First I tried fuses and relay, all good. swapped relay to be sure. Nothing. Cleaned switches. Nothing. Swapped with new. Decided to test motor. Pulled it, works both directions when 12v applied and poles swapped. Swapped with new one just to be sure. Nothing.

When I check voltage from switch I have 12v in switch up pos. but nothing in down position. I have checked wires in door boot for breaks and they are all good. Even checked continuity from back of fuse block plug and all are good.

So now where do I look? GEM? I am truly stumped. And am really tired of throwing money at it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ive used the search feature to exhaustion and have come up bust on any new ideas.

Thanks in advance.

Search this, - "How To Repair the Power Window Regulator / Motor, F150", - it may help.

You can check out the GEM, - the giveaway for a bad GEM is water intrusion evidence. White corrosion.

Other then that, supply 12V's if you have to lol. I would check the wiring diagram, - to make sure I wasn't missing anything in between. There has to be and explanation. Seems like you already tracked it down somewhat. Where exactly does the power cut?

Drivers Side Window

Take a look at the OUTSIDE of the door, if there is a crack about 3 1/2" up from the lower window sill, there's your problem, the door cant take the constant opening and closing due to an internal rib that doesn't go up high enough within.
The doors from 1999 and 2000 do not have long enough internal rib to strengthen the door, thus the cracking.
I have the identical problem and looking for a replacement door, I was told that this couldn't be fixed.
Hope this helps.

This link will help you diagnose the problem. It's pretty good at the details leading to a bad GEM. It gives instructions on bypassing it to get the drivers window to work if the GEM is your problem.

No problem. Glad to pass on the information. All a new GEM is going to buy you is the Auto feature which I hate. When I want the window to stop moving...I want it to stop moving. I don't need a GEM to keep the window rolling. Really pisses me off. I hate the Auto feature.
