Gear swap in front axle

A few years ago I bought a 9.75 that had already had 4.56 gears installed to replace my 8.8. Now I'm finally looking at replacing the gears in the front axle. From what I've read it seems like a pretty challenging job, so I figured I would take the front pumpkin out and let someone knowledgeable do the job. Obviously I need to buy the gears, but as far as install kits go what else should I need? I've seen Yukon's install kits priced anywhere from $40 to $200 and not sure of what to get.

get a master install kit. it comes with bearings and shims.

the front axle is pretty easy to get out. you barely have to jack up the front end to get it out.

Make sure to get the proper gears. They need to be reverse cut for the front.

To get the front pumpkin off will It just be unbolt and done, or do I need to pull each axle side out a little like you would on the rear?

will the master install kits for the standard 8.8 and the reverse cut 8.8 be the same?

It should be, the ring and pinion are cut different for the front and back because they turn opposite directions. The master install should be bearings, shims, and crush sleeve. Pretty sure they are the same front and back.

That's what I thought, because the "front axle" master kits look identical and are twice the price. But I'd think all parts would be the same size or it would defeat the purpose of calling both an 8.8. But that's just my simple logic
