Truck is for sale - need opinions on why nobody wants it
When selling a vehicle, patience is a virtue. The buyer has to have cash for a vehicle that old. No bank will finance it. Someone with that much cash might buy a new or much newer truck from a dealer who can arrange financing. If you can get someone to come look at it and drive it, the power might blow them away and they will have to have it!
When I bought my 02 FX4 Lariat 4 years ago, the seller was asking $10,000 which was wholesale. He advertised it on craigslist for that price for 6 months before I started looking for a used truck. He said many people wanted it but could not come up with the cash. It only had 69k miles on it and I was lucky it was available when I started looking.

I love how the women always bring about the selling of our trucks . . . Don't they know that 15 people and 20 dogs can fit in the bed?!
NEED to clear up cash... Not really, but I'd like to. The truck was my wife's daily driver and our tow rig. I typically ride a motorcycle or drive my Lexus, so it's no big deal losing the truck - other than the uniqueness of the V10.
Hmm instead swapping the V10 into the Expedition, just put a junkyard 5.4 into the truck and get rid of the V10 altogether. As awesome as it is, no sense in making the expedition un-sellable too. Maybe you can sell the V10 and all the components that go with it as an "all you need for a V10 swap" package.
I thought about suggesting that! But I figured the Lexus was the gas saver among the cars and/or was worth less than the truck. Either way, I second the proposal!
The Lexus run's 12's, does 155 MPH (then hits speed limiter), gets 25MPG, is far more comfy, and never ever ever breaks down. I can't say that about the truck.

Thinking about it for a while - just keep the truck. Once you have a truck and get rid of it, you will miss it. There are things that a pickup truck with an open bed can do that an Expy can't. Example - Home Depot runs...........
Use it for hauling loads and towing when you don't need the passenger space.

some things just aint worth selling. Myself when I look for cars I look for stuff that is unmolested as possible.. Even the statement in the ad about removing the stereo would be a turn off for me. Just do it.. Make sure it has a functioning radio though. Thats a big turn off a dash with a hole where the radio went.
Use it as a beater. I'm never going to sell my 2008. When I get a new one, I'm going to use it as my winter truck, so the new one never comes in to contact with road salt. . . . . Thank You Wisconsin
To be honest, it's the fact that it has a v10 in it and wouldn't out-tow a F150 7700. The sound system does nothing for me (prefer stock setup, really) and all that work to have ABS and cruise issues? That sounds hack-job.
Heck, living in the Houston area, I couldn't even get that thing emissions legal, since that v10 wasn't exactly available in the light duty trucks.
Your market is really slim. One, for someone who wants a v10 F150; two, for someone who still has some fixer-upper stuff to do. Maybe ven someone who in my case would have to buy a farm to drop it off at so I could dig ruts with it...
