Installing new OEM fog lights

I want to add some fog lights to my truck, but have a few questions. I've heard these trucks come pre-wired for fogs, I looked but could not find any unused plugs under the hood. I did find two plugs that don't seem to run anywhere, but I'm not sure if these are it.

I've checked around at junkyards but it seems that every truck with a fog switch has had it yanked out. So another question is, if I can get the wiring harness that connects to the back of the bulbs on the fog lights, can I splice these into my corner lights? If so, would I need to run an extra relay? Or would I be better off just buying a universal wiring kit with a completely separate switch?

Here's the picture of the plugs, the one on the passenger side is next to the wires going to the horn:

Plugs should be there, mounted behind the headlights, I believe on the front side of the radiator support. You will need to get a new light switch also. One from a vehicle that had the fogs. Wiring to other lights might overload them.

My 2000 F150 XLT2wd did not have the plug there already. I was lucky as I acquired a few of the Ford valance kits that had the fog light valance, fog lights, wiring harness, light switch and etc all in the kit.
You will want to run a relay so they cut on and off with high beam use if your state requires it. Some mandate fogs/driving lights must switch off when using high beams...
Buddies supercrew was already wired like Kingfish mentioned and we just had to put Valance/lights and switch in..

Your 2wd did not have fog lamps as an available option. Only the 4wd could come with fogs. My 98 Rcab had the wiring harness.

I'm aware of that but buddies 2001 Supercrew 2wd did have the wiring installed as well as my fathers 2003 Lariat 2wd...My 2000 2wd did not and they were all 2wd.. They did not have the 4wd option on those for the valance and fogs either..I was able to add them with the Ford kit and didn't have to install the wiring harness as it was in truck already...

Looked again, almost positive those plugs are not there. The truck is a 1997 4.6 XLT 4x4 with the Romeo motor built later in '97 I believe. So back to the question, can I wire them to splice in with the corner lights? I do not know a ton about electrical systems aside from what I've learned in my engineering classes. IIRC, the relay would allow me to run a separate power feed to the lights, isolating it from power feed associated with the lights, but still allowing me to utilize the switch I have as the fog lights will come on anytime my corner lights are on. But by doing this, would my fogs then flash every time I turned my blinker on?

I've also seen universal wiring kits like this one, would it be possible to purchase this and splice it into my existing switch, or even the factory one w/ fogs? Although I know this one comes with a completely separate one

I got the plugs on ebay, but I'm pretty sure they're stocked at most auto parts stores ...

I do know that around 2001-2002 is when they were making changes to the wiring harness because they made changes to the 4r70w mostly and they may have started opting in for the prewired fog lights then🤷🏽‍♂️. I’m not sure though if anyone else pre-2001 has those lights prewired Ik my 2002 4.2l xl has them bc I’m getting ready to put them in when my switch comes later.
