No fuel pressure when cold

I have a 97, 4.6, standard trans, every time I go to start it up when it's cold. I have to cycle the key a few times to build up pressure then it will start up, but every time I hit the throttle it will bog a little than pick up. Once it's warmed up it's perfectly fine, and starts right up? There are no leaks, and all fittings seem tight, what the heck is going on, all injectors are good also!

Probably the fuel pump is allowing the pressure to drain back into the tank.

You'd have to do a bleed-down test if you want to verify.

The work-around is to simply turn the key from OFF to RUN, wait two seconds, then turn off. Repeat as needed, then turn the key to START to start the engine.

Yea that's what I meant by "cycle the key" that's exactly what I have to do to start it, what can I do to fix this?

Start with the fuel fliter like glc suggested. If that doesn't do it then might be time for a pump or live with it.

I'd say the least you could do is answer questions asked. For now anyway.

Fuel filters should be changed every 30k.
