Fixes for broken coil and fuel injector plug/connectors

Just finished checking my plugs after one ejected on the highway 400 miles from home last weekend. Talk about a good time, but I digress.

My truck is now 11 years old and the clips in the coil and injector plugs have given up the ghost on a couple of cylinders. So the question is:

What have you guys done to maintain a good connection, without resorting to replacing the entire harness?

I was thinking maybe a dab of silicone or possibly zip-ties (which seems like a long shot) but that's about all I got. What say you?

Zip ties.

Torque those plugs to 28 ft/lb and they won't eject. The only inserts that last are Timesert.

Replace the connectors. They're all replaceable. Takes a set of eye glass screwdrivers, but that's about it. You can always just purchase the pig tails as well.

I have a PDF somewhere.... Well, here's one, - http://www.fordtechservice.dealercon...torcatalog.pdf

Already torqued the plugs, thanks. Probably read that in one of your posts from a hundred years ago. Or was it jbrew's?

I'd say back in 06-07. Yea, I was looking for a 5four harness at the time, - grabbed that new 4six harness when it came up in search. Has all the same type connectors. I've been pillaging that thing for years now, - when I need a connector lol. Handy
