Which engine?
How many miles on it?
What is its maintenance history?
Any stored trouble codes in the OBD2 system?

Have the spark plugs ever been changed? Have you actually connected a code reader?

I bought the truck with around 68,000 on it and to my knowledge the plugs are factory. I have never hooked it up to a code reader, I could take it to Auto Zone to have it checked

Change the plugs, they are overdue. Motorcraft SP479, no antiseize, 28 ft/lb torque, use dielectric grease in the coil boots when reinstalling. See if there are any codes when you are over at AZ buying the plugs ($3.49 each) and grease. Buy a bottle of Techron and throw it in the gas too.

Just came from AZ, they checked for codes and there were none. Before I put the fuel filter on last weekend, I put a bottle of fuel treatment in the tank and filled it up hoping that would help. Guess the plugs are next, how big of a job are the plugs?

Your first time will be a PITA. Expect 4 to 5 hours. A quick search here will bring up a 'how to" with pictures. If you find the how to I used do not use antiseize like glc suggested.
