2003 2WD Clunk Bump Feel
I just picked up a 2WD regular cab with 104k. Truck rides and drives quite well, new shocks and brakes.
The problem I'm having is the clunk that I can feel, not hear, when the truck comes to a stop. Upon taking off, I can't feel it. Seems like it only appears when stopping. Years ago I had a 4by Cherokee with this problem and greasing the splines fixed it. If I'm correct though, this isn't necessary with a 2WD. Correct?
Your experienced input on my clunk is welcomed.

Hmm, I'm familiar with that, but I don't think that's it. Thanks for the reply, I'll give it a look.
Well after much time researching, I found I indeed needed to grease the splines. I did so with a half tube of the motorcraft blue teflon grease and all is well. Hope this will help someone else.
