wheel Adapters

to be spacific i am talking about the hub sentric, with new wheel studs, not the spacers with out wheel studs. I know some say they are not safe, but my wheels have a back spaceing of 4.5", i am wanting the 1½" wheel adapters to push my current wheels ( Micky Thompson clasic 2) out so i can reattach my E brake Cable, and to get the tires outside the fender well alittle. will they be and harder on the front ball joints, tie rods, EXT. than a wheel that pushed my tires 1½" further out from where they are now? i like my wheels that i have now. I would think that one will be just as hard on the front end as the other. I am not taking about the Spacers that just push out your wheels by shorting up the threads on your lug nuts, but the ones with new lugs are the one i am talking about. what are your opions?

While those are the "safest" out of wheel spacers, trying to get 3" of backspacing is going to wreak havoc on the bearings. And you'll still have to trim a little off the studs to get them to fit.

Why can't you attach the cable?

I have a 10" wheel with 4½" back spacing and 305 70 R 16s. Brake cable doesn't rub.

cable is to short, i am runniing 17x9, w/ 4.5 BS, with a 35-12.50-17 toyo mt. my previous tire was a 315-70-17 Mickey thompson ATZ, and i had no problem with them. i will be going to a 37 later. what wheel size, and back spaceing choice are the guys that are running 37? I figured someone running a 16x12 wheel with a BS of 4 or even 4.5 would be harder on the front end parts, correct me if i am wrong though.

How is moving the wheel out going to make the cable reach? I'm just confused on that part.

And wheel width for the 37 depends on how wide it is, it could be anywhere from 9-12" wide generally.

The Cable Reaches, but with the wide tire I had to disconect it due to the cable rubing the inside of the tire. the Toyo side lugs will rub the cable and lock the e brake down

Well if your gonna run wheel spacers those are the ones to get with the wheel centric part. As long as they fit your Mickey T's center bore. You get the extra sturdiness of that wheel centric part as well as the lug centric part.

While i do run 1.5 adapters and love them. I can not recommend them to anyone.

Is your cable not bolted along the lower control arm? That's the mine is and I've never had a problem, I never heard of anyone having that problem ha.

Even when I had 16x12's with 4.5" of backspacing and 35x14.50 thornbirds which have massive side lugs I didn't have that problem.

Like the others have stated, not sure how this is going to fix your e-brake issue but if you go with the adapters make sure they fit without cutting off your studs or replacing them. I have adapters on my 05 and 2 inch is the smallest spacer you can go without shortening your oem studs or replacing them with shorter ones.

1.5" spacers will need shortening of the stock studs, they're like 1.6ish inches iirc.
