High pitched squeal
High pitched squeal
Hey guys, I'm on my phone and don't have time to search.
The problem: high pitched squeal/squeak coming from the driver side tire area. It only happens when the wheels are turned to the right and going forward. I seem to notice it more going about 25mph+. When going slower, I can sort of hear it, but not really. I haven't had time to look at it yet, but it only started about 2 days ago. I'm going to pull the tire tonight after work and see if there is a rock or something in there. Rotors were done over summer. Pads were good when I changed rotors.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Haha. Between school, homework, and work, time for the truck kinda gets pushed back. The power steering fluid level is right where it should be. I drove it around the parking lot on my lunch break, and I went slow without turning my wheel, and I heard the sound very slightly. Like I said, I'm going to look at it after work to check the brake.
Ok. I removed the tire and looked around. I saw/felt nothing contacting the rotor or inside the caliper or anything. The after-inspection test drive revealed that the problem still exists.
Are you sure the dust shield for the breaks isn't hitting the rotor? sometimes it doesn't look like its hitting but it is. I usually just bend them away a little even if it doesn't look like its touching and have had that work for a similar sounding noise.
After looking a little more, I am pretty sure it's the wheel bearing. My brakes have kinda been a little weird sometimes too, and I'm guessing that since the wheel bearing has integrated ABS, that would have caused that too. It'll be changed this weekend, so we'll see then.

I had this similar problem on my 01 Screw a couple months back, turns our it was the wheel bearing. I'd recommend you check that out. ( mine was pretty worn out ill try to get a picture up when I get home )
Best of luck!
