what's the difference between the 4.6l in the f150 and the 4.6l in the Mustang?

I've been trying to find info to figure this out. I found parts for the 4.6 Mustang like the SVE Cop's and, other components and I'm wondering if they're interchangeable.

Block is interchangeable. Intake manifold, valve covers, oil pan, front drive pulleys are all different.

Chrmar- so the cop's, probably won't fit? What about the injectors? I found some in a mustangs and fast fords mag. I currently have Accel cop's and e3 plugs, stock injectors with stock fuel rail, but I've has a bad misfire for a while. I understand stock would probably work best to smooth out the misfire, but I'm really trying to pull some more HP out of this motor. The truck is currently being built to be a desert race truck/weekend you,

I know the cams are different but not sure about anything else. The truck motor shares more in common with the crown vic than the mustang

On the cop ignition system, motorcraft is probably the best out there. Accel cops are probably the worst, from what I can gather. As far as plugs go, some recommend NGK,
and Denso iridiums, I use motorcraft. On these modern ignition systems, sometimes using anything but oem, is less performance instead of more.

I already mentioned for your NA system, OEM cop's are superior. Do not waste your money on anything else telling you otherwise.
Visteon coils can be found on Ebay and are oem specific (relabeled motorcraft) Search visteon coils DG508
If you want to upgrade your plugs.. denso iridium's would be recommended.

Some Mustang Underdrive pulley systems will fit an F150. Steeda confirmed this for me awhile back.

The difference to look out for is the width of the pulleys; some F-150s have 8 belt ribs on the pulleys while Crown Vics and Mustangs have 6 ribs.

They are 8 rib all the way up to at least '03, iirc. My '05 is 6-rib.

Dont think your 4.6 F150 is going to be fast if you put swap mustang parts into it. The only thing that would make a difference is a supercharger or turbo. I have close to 350 HP on my 4.6 and its still not what I consider quick. Remember these are heavy beasts!

the two valve PI motors had the same cam stock in both 4.6 and 5.4 applications regardless of what vehicle they were in

so get rid of those E3 pieces of crap, install some decent plugs and swap out your COPS

Ordered the visteon Cop's today, and I've had some motorcraft plugs in the garage from my old f150, I guess I can always get a ranger to play in later... I just really wanted to pull HP out of this motor, I was looking for 500+, but I think I'm just gonna buy a ranger later on. Thanks a lot guys!
