2000 f150 front end on a 1997
i did search and nothing came up. So my 1997 f150 bumper rusted out already. i went on craigslist and bought a 2000 f150 4x4 front end for 180 dollars. i got the header panel, grill, grill surround, and bumper. this 2000 front end should bolt right up right? what else do i have to know before tackling this project? also, would the carpet on the 2000 fit my 1997? both extra cabs. also my truck is a red lariat where can i find paint to match the 2000 f150s grill surround? thanks
The carpet, = yes.
The paint, - grab your paint code, take it up to Sherwin Williams and they'll mix it for yuh. They'll even fill rattle cans for you, -IF that's what your after...
The rest of your questions. Either they're to painful figuring out what the hell your asking (your English sucks, or you just can't type) or iduno.
Something about relays? Ahh, forget it lol.

This topic has been covered at length before; your search-fu must be weak.
What you need that you didn't get are the bumper brackets; they are different between the two different style setups. Everything will bolt up and fit back together properly. You will only need the header panel if your truck was built before 07/96; those trucks seem to get rarer as time marches on.
Most of these trucks have the provision for the fog lights installed from the factory. Seems it was cheaper to wire them all up this way rather than produce separate harnesses. The plug-ins should be tied up somewhere in behind the bumper/grille and you should be able to just plug in some fog lights, get the appropriate headlight switch and away you go.

No worries, stroked_89, glad to help if we can. You should take a browse through this thread, it is pretty thorough.
Have you checked to see if your truck already has the fog light harness? If not, you need to supply switched power to them. Depending on whether you want full control of them or not, you can get the power from the low beam headlights and ground them somewhere convenient.

Maybe he'll understand this a little better
Try check up unda neat da grill/bumper for factory wires. If get, den all you need is one switch from a truck dat had foglights. If not, wire em up like you said and run one toggle switch to da cab somewhere. Only bad part is no forget and leave em on.

Aha, that makes sense. The only 2WD trucks to have fog lights were Lightnings. Maybe STX, can't remember. You could wire up an HID setup for the fogs if you wanted, I guess. Just make sure you have all the proper wiring or else your truck might end up in smoke.
