A/C going hot when on high
To start of guys and girls I am very new to this so please bear with me. I have a problem with my A/C, my ac blows cold most of the time but sometimes when I put the ac on high it turns hot and other times I can’t run the ac without it getting hot unless it’s on low. When it turns hot I have to mess with the **** almost like I have to reset it through the controls. ( Eg. Turn it off then on then to hot then cold then it works again.) Could it be the Temperature Door Actuator, my dad seems to think that it’s a vacume leak, does the ac even run off a vacuum. If it does the hose that come out of my valve cover on the driver side is completely rotted and not hooked up. Also when my ac does work it leaks water into the floor so bad I have to pull the plastic by the door and unplug a drain hole to drain it. What would be causing that? Any help would be good I just don’t want to start buying brand new parts and it not fix it? I have a 1998 ford f150 lariot 4.6l 4wd automatic
Probably the typical busted temperature blend door. Temperature control is not vacuum actuated. If you also notice wide temperature swings when taking off or stopping, that would confirm this as the problem.
The hose on the valve cover is part of the PCV system, not the climate control system.
Air conditioning is SUPPOSED to remove moisture from the air, condense it, then drain it out the bottom of the vehicle. If yours is allowing the water to stay in the cabin, the drain is probably clogged.

Thank you for the fast reply, I figured it was something like that I didn’t think the pcv system would be doing that as that was only told that. As far as the leak how would I go about unclogging that I have tried unclogging the drain tube from underneath the truck but got nothing and was dry as a bone.
