2001 f150 4.2l v6 engine chatter under load

Good morning
I am trying to figure this out so bear with me. I recently started have a chattering noise as I accelerate in my truck. It sounds like the old carberated engines when the choke plate would chatter. The truck runs absolutely great, I have good oil flow and internally seem to be really clean(took oil filler neck off to view oil flow and to see if there was any buildup ). I have been reading the posts and I tend to think it is something to do with the intake manifold runner control, I can see one of the linkages on driver side operating but cannot see other side. My truck hasa 151000 miles and has had regular oil and filter changes. Thanks for your help

Frustrated!

Does it sound like metal rattling? Go underneath the truck and start looking at your cat heat shields, those come loose sometimes.

You sure it isn't spark knock? If it is, premium gas will make it go away or lessen it.

I have tried premium gas and have also tried fuel additives. I am wondering about the imrc. If I understand what I have researched, there are butterfly plates in the intake manifold(the aluminum part)and that what it sounds like there is a control module on the back that has linkages to each side of the rear of manifold. The sound can be heard just about anywhere you try listening.
