I'm pretty sure that's going to be a dealer only item! Was the recall ever done on your speed control?

yeah, the cruise control had a bad habit of setting the truck on fire, the recall fixes that. I'd take it to a dealer and have them look into it.

Go here and put in your VIN:

Inspect the master cylinder for fluid leakage around the cruise disconnect switch.

Cruise recall

Tried for several years to get it fixed but the dealership never had the part. They just told me the part is on back order. Finally caught on fire. I was right there so I caught it before it caused server damage. The brake fluid ignited and dropped to the ground on fire. So I popped the hood and got it out. Took it to a shop because I didn’t know what was wrong. They told me that was the recall item. Took it to a dealership and ford denied the claim and refused to repair it.

Glad you were able to get the fire out.

Just Youtube it and show them.

In short: Find a different dealer.

Ford does not assume liability for vehicles damaged due to recalls that were not performed. The parts for the recall were in short supply for a little while, but that's been more than a decade ago.

This is an issue for insurance (if any)., not whining about it on internet forums.

You could have simply bought a new improved switch for $22 instead of waiting for the dealer who obviously didn't care about taking care of this for you. Takes 5 minutes to change.

Somewhere in you area must be a truck in a yard with a cable.
They are all the same over many years.
