Will an 03 4.2 fit in my 97??

Want to know if an 03 f150 engine will wire up and install right into my 97 f150??

yes, but there is one difference and i cant remember it off the top of my head. And i thought yours was a 4.6...

Nah I wish. . . I got the baby 4.2, do love that engine though

I think if you use the intake system from your current 4.2, you should be fine.

I installed an '04 4.2 in my '97. You need to keep your plenum & fuel rail, also keep all of your sensors. There is an issue with the knock sensor, but you don't really need it anyway. I zip-tied mine off to the side, & left it there. Truck has been running with no problems for over a year now. Some of the brackets up front will have to be changed also. No big deal.
