My 2001 4.2 Build Thread
don't get a capacitor it's an expensive paper weight. If your havin dimming, do the big three and if it still persists I'd ditch that Kenwood amp and get something with quality in it that's a lot more efficient. imagine how much better it could sound if you could actually feed those subs 1000 watts a piece instead of the strained 500 that probably puts out around ha.

BIG3, BIG difference. Might wanna grab a Motorcraft Original Alt on eBay, -at least a 130 since your prob @ 90amp currently. Look for a new take off on eBay. -The Motorcraft. Only place I've found them in the past, -cheap.
There's a write up on this site about the B3, -tech forum. Ryan (FFI/RJM) has some hard to find stuff and info, (FORD/3G). Great site, great guy, very knowledgeable http://oldfuelinjection.com/?p=55
the ALT actually went in my truck i replaced it with one from auto zone 130 amp. and its still dimming the head lights and yea it does kinda look like storm trooper healment now that u say that but i wanted something to brake up the black i just finished the doors today ill put up a pic later. and the headliner im gonna just re do in black and the seats i wanna get em redone in a black leather. just alittle bit at a time. and whats wrong with teh throttle body spacer?
i dont really care for the white interior either since you do want to go all black, its just too much contrast.
new headlights would look great on there too! either the L style or HD.
can we get some more full pics of the truck?

haha i think putting nitrous on my truck would just be a waste of time. now pulling the motor out and droping in a 03 Cobra motor now that would be a good time haha. but i never had a throttle body spacer and well ive heard mixed reviews about em and well to be honest i dont know if it helps or not but **** it for 50 dollars it was worth a shot.
ok so right im getting now love in the 4.2 side of this forum and thats fine i understand not alot of us 4.2 owners out there that actually love are trucks for what the are but i posted this over there and well not getting any hits back. i know that most of the parts from the 3.8 mustang will fit the 4.2 F series but what fits and what doesnt. i would like to pick up a 65mm throttle body to help with a little power. because trust me guys im not drag racing my truck every weekend or messing around with the local honda kids. but ide like alittle more power for when im getting on the highways and well just to not feel as if i could get passed bye the local 16yr old kid down the street with the 94 civic with the muffler that i could live in. so any help would be nice guys. and also thanks for the comments and ideas this weekend im going to be pulling out the headliner and seats ill take some pictures as im pulling everything out and if anyone has any tips or wants to know how i did anything just let me know ill make sure i post up what ever questions u guys may have.
so heres a couple more pictures
It might be lowerd but prof that i still use my 8 foot bed for what i was meant for

before the rims

i guess someone liked my center caps more then i did.

i can not stress how much easyer life is when u have a air hammer because with out one i have no clue how u would ever get them rivets out it still took me a couple of hours to get em out but wow what a pain in the ***.
