So I had a bed to put on my truck. That is until I got hit taking it to my dad's house to use his hoist. Through the insurance company I was able to get the money for the bed because they were just going to buy any random bed that would fit and get it put on.

Now I'm planning on buying a bed still, but I have a few questions first.

My truck is a 2wd 99 extended cab with a short wheelbase. I know right away where I can get a bed that is in great shape for only 300$. I've seen the bed. The guy just wants it gone. But this bed is of a 2wd 98 regular cab. Would I be able to drop this bed on my frame and bolt it on without any issues? Or do I need a extended cab bed?

It'll bolt up the same as long as its a short bed, but I'm not sure if they body difference may make it line up a little off.

 

Thanks for clearing up the mounting. Hopefully someone knows if it will line up body wise or not.

 

Are they both 6.5 foot Styleside beds?

 

yes they are. Sorry I should have said that in my first post.

 

Everything should be the same. Body style changed in 2000. Just look at the tail lights. Are they the same ? If so, everything else is as long as it's the same size bed.

 

Yes they are the same tail lights. The bed is 6.5 feet on the regular cab and 6.5 feet on mine as well. I'm getting the bed tomorrow. The guy will have it off then. Thanks guys
