Here's an interesting tid-bit of info...I'm on a few of the detailing forums out there and if you do some homework, you'll discover that the Mother's claybar is usually regarded among the very best out there, even along side some of the botique brands. This in part has a little to do with the current clay bar patent controversy/battle, but still a top quality product none the less.

Mother's is definitely one of those brands out there that gets overlooked in the pro arena sometimes, when they actually have some top quality products. I have Mother's stuff in my cabinet that's my go-to standard for some things.

Here's how I learned my lesson with clay bars...I used to think I didn't need one because my vehicles were too well maintaned for it. My dad finally convinced me to give it a try one spring cleaning, so I did. Two things I immediately noticed and made it every bit worth the effort; 1, I couldn't believe how easy it was to work with the surface after claying, regardless of what you're doing; polish, cleaning, straight to wax, etc. 2, I couldn't beleive how clean my polishing pads were staying during the process. Those two alone make it all worth while.

Yea I think I will be stocking up on mothers products. I am very pleased with the product. I have never clay bared a vehicle either nor has my dad and he was amazed as well. I will be doing this twice a year as the label states from now on.

Don't overdo the clay - once a year is plenty.

Yep - I bet there are fuel additives out there that recommend a bottle in every tank of gas and oil additives that recommend a bottle every (3000 mile) oil change.........

Clay is somewhat abrasive - it CAN be overused. It does a great job of lifting contaminants out of the clear coat, but it also can remove a microscopic layer.
