I just spent almost 2 years trying to find one
searched e bay & every ford truck site under the sun

I finally gave up and went to the ford dealer to buy one - and the grille for it
(after wasteing $$ on a bar grille that was too short for the opening)

I think I was lucky I bought the vallance first 'cause I was able to go back to buy the grille a couple of weeks later
ford's parts list says grille not sold seperately but haveing just ordered the vallance a couple of weeks earlier I got one anyway

part# for vallance is
FD 3L3Z 17626 APTM ...canadian list price is $885 - got it for $750 + tax

part # for the lower grille (black) is
FD 3L3Z 17K945 A ... cdn list price $262.41 - got it for 223.05 + tax

HOWEVER , I'm still missing a part it seems - I have an '01 f150 not a H-D
on the back of the grille are 3 post like brackets that are attached to the grille with some plastic riviets - the bottoms of them attach to the bottom edge of the vallance but I have nothing yet for the tops of these brackets to attach to

I'm going back to the dealer's tomorrow hopefully to find out what I'm missing and order it - I'll try to add the info to this when I know what it is

Ouch. I paid $150 for my STX valance. And I've seen some OEM HD valences on eBay a while back for $250. The HD and Lightning forums also have them from time to time in the classifieds.

yeah , deff an ouch, T-G for visa and the ablity to pay for it in part for a couple of months
not sure I could have brought myself to pay for it if I'd had to count out cash on the counter

word of advice on the factory lower grille
it has a long tab at the top that has 2 bolt holes in it where it attaches to the top of the vallance

this tab is made with a hinge area - like the hinge of a plastic socket set case

I bent it over once to attach it to the vallance and it started to crack along the hinge line
it's nothing that couldn't be fixed with a short piece of right angled sheet metal and some riviets if it broke , but really it's a shoddy way to make the part when it could have just been molded with the piece bent over to start with

Are you trying to find the Ford Part Number for the Harley valence? Google it, there is a thread on the HD forums where a guy listed the FPN for EVERY SINGLE PART on the truck
